A one thousand mile cycle ride from Lands End to John O'Groats in support of The British Heart Foundation accompanied by two guys who should know better, an ageing bike and a swarm of enthusiastic Scotish midges.
Come on now boys just think of the task in hand and don't get all hung up about a bit of wet weather ahead of you for the next few days! I now recall why I stopped holidaying in Cornwall and Devon all those years ago .... those camp sites were pretty wet as I remember!
Think about Clare struggling to get the washing out in this bad weather .... and me having to put my car wipers on double speed coming into work today!
Perhaps next time you should try Spain which has a lot of cycling routes, bigger hills and sunny weather!
Yes John I was out of breath and absolutley wet through running outside to get the washing in. I had to sit down with a coffee and a large bun a little watching of Jeremy Vile before I could muster up enough energy to set off to the tumble dryer.
Chris can you see what we're up against back home in Yorkshire! Still the sun's out today and I'm sure Clare will make it to the washing line OK now. That's assuming you got the lawns cut before you left, otherwise your electric bill will be sky high using the tumble drier! Anyway don't worry about us too much .... and watch out for those roundabouts!
